As a mage, one typically belong to a group, dependent upon how one uses one’s magic. These groups includes amongst others:

• Shadow wielders
• Death benders (What others would call necromancers)
• Arcanists

Magic in Néveri is defined as the force which was left in the universe after the elder gods united and split Néveri at the world division. This force is a small part of the gods’ power, and it exists in everything alive and dead in all of Néveri. Those who know how to use this force are magicians. Some uses the force from the dead, others take it from the living, some from nature and others again from their surroundings.

Normally we do not use spells, one is free as a magic-player to come up with one’s own spells and use those. Whether one uses a set pattern or invents something new every time, is entirely free. Usually one’s character needs a book to write one’s spells in, even though there isn’t a specific ritual or sentence for it. As one’s character develops through one playing them, their magic increases in strength. It is left for the player to decide how, and how fast a character develops. One must use one’s own imagination and judgement here.

It is always recommended to read about a certain group, if one wishes to belong to this group, to see if there are limitations on one’s abilities, or a special way to use them. If a group is not described and one wishes it to be added, one can always contact a gamemaster wih their idea.
