The English pages are not updated.
Please do not use the English lore texts for RPing in Néveri.
We will begin to work on the English site again if interest in it returns.

This if offplay and inplay knowledge side by side. It is mostly written for those who were not there when it all began, but also for those who wish to have an overview of what transpired back then.

Yes, Jaric here has decided to do a rather large project. I will write a long report of what, who, when AND why the wolves are – both in- and offplay. I do it mostly for the fun of it, and because certain members have asked me to. Many members were not there during the time of the wolves and those who were cannot remember the details. So I have gathered most of it, if I have forgotten anything, please inform me.

As previously stated, this text is split in off- and inplay, as simple as possible. So, here goes.

May 2004 (Off game)
BFRF have a 24-hour scenario, which dod not go quite as planned. The game masters need a scenario for the night to keep the players at it, so Rene, Malte, Heidi and Dan started thinking. The result was some dangerous creatures: People with a different or changed soul. They were neither werewolves nor real wolves. Their leader is an evil god, whom Heidi names Therian, inspired by the theory of ”Therianthropy”. It is good to remember that the wolves later went through some serious changes, since the universe, Morania, Camrynn etc. was not in existence at the time!

Therian is played by Jimmi, in the form of a drow. The wolves are played by Dan, Heidi, Rene and Malte. The wolves’ mark was a sign on one cheek, where Therian’s sign was larger than the others’. Their abilities were not thought through, but they were good at assasination, and could kill with one blow or chop off an arm or leg. They had the ability to hide from anybody and sneak through the darkness without being seen. Therian, though, were better than his wolves. They could not find people hiding in the dark, except for Therian. The only thing which would repel them was a holy cross, which only one person could use. This character was played by Gork / Danni. The wolf Dan played was destroyed, Bjarke and Topp knocked it out and the cross was placed on it’s forehead. A priest gave Dan’s role his soul back, and the elf lived on in the scenarios for a couple of weeks. At the end of the scenario, after a few hours where only some few wanted to play, the person who could control the cross disappeared. The wolves killed him, but only few players figured this out. Then the scenario ended, and the only thing happening with the wolves for the next few scenarios was Malte’s character, who was a regular person during the day and an evil wolf during the night.

The year 3450 in the sign of Mikan (Ingame)
Morania’s king, Fellon Ironfist, holds a knight tournament in Camrynn which goes terribly wrong when orcs attack the town. The villagers flee towards the coast and gather around a small camp fire. Soon howls are heard from the surrounding forest, and several of the citizens who are unfortunate enough to wander in the woods die from massive bleeding, alone their screams echoinging in the woods. The only one who could save the villagers disappear without a trace, and with him also the holy symbol.

September 2004
The universe is created, and the wolves are adapted to it. As an introduction to a new 24-hour scenario the wolf group is remade. Malte’s original character is preserved and Rene plays Therian this time. Before the 24-hour play they gain Heidi as a new wolf by the help of Kenn, who is also a new wolf.

The year 3450 in the sign of Yun
Wolf howls are once again heard in the woods of Camrynn and the inn, owned by Jorodes, is damaged several times by the violent wolves.

October 2004
Again as a prelude to the 24-hour play the wolves are expandet drastically. They get their own ritual, and there is also a ritual for getting rid of them. The documents, which have not previously been released to anyone but the wolf players, are written here:

  1. Becoming a chaos wolf:
Therian marks the wolves’ sign on the victim whilst he says a spell in Shalan. Then Therian kills the victim. The person goes offplay and ?sminkes?. The wolves leave the victim inplay. The victim then awakens and seeks the wolves inplay, now with a new soul.

  2. The three phases:

1st phase: Puppy mode. Your earlier abilities are gone. You are good at sneaking and hiding – you can move slowly without being seen – and you are proficient with a knife or small dagger. You can assasinate others.

2nd phase: Skizofrenia. You have the same abilities, but with more control of yourself. You also become better at spotting people hiding. To reach this phase , some time needs to go by – and you must do a kill.

3rd phase: This phase makes you the best at sneaking and you become proficient with magic, depending on which chaos god you symbolize. You become good at finding people in hiding. To reach this phase you have to do a personal kill.

4rd. phase: This phase is only reached by Therian himself. He can always hide himself and can find anyone – he is, briefly stated: A GOD!

  3. The holy symbol:
First off, the wolves cannot get close to the holy symbol. They can feel it from a great distance. Anyone else can touch the symbol and use it – though not a chaos priest or chaos knight.

To get a wolf soul out of a person, and hereby killing the body permanently, one has to perform a certain ritual with the holy symbol.

The wolf must be ’killed’ – that is, be unconscious and regenerating. You must hold the holy symbol on the wolf’s forehead during the entire ritual. You must place three lit candles all around the wolf in a triangle. You shall say the following three times:

With the holy symbol of light
With the rays of all sunny days
I ban your dark soul of the night
I ban the effect of Therians ways.

I defy your kills and bloody fights
I defy your beast, the wolf within
I give to you the gifts of lights
And drive your soul back to his dark kin.

Then the wolf soul will be gone from the person. Unless a priest can summon the person’s original soul, the body will die.

An exception is the wolf carrying Therian’s owl soul. When he is trapped, he must be placed in a marked pentagram, matching Koji’s necklace with candles between the points. There is to be formed a circle around the pentagram – by people holding each other’s hands.

Therian must be placed in the middle. The people in the circle have to say this spell the whole time:

With the holy symbol of light
With the rays of all sunny days
I ban your dark soul of the night
I ban the effect of Therians ways.

I defy your kills and bloody fights
I defy your beast, the wolf within
I give to you the gifts of lights
And drive your soul back to his dark kin

This spell has to be spoken by the returned king once:

Xuil l' orthae klez d' ssussun
Xuil l' illyiffen d' jal ahaluthh tangin
Usstan tarthe dosst olath quortek d'lil isto
Usstan tarthe l' effect d' Therians i'dollen.

Usstan philth dosst elggen lu' buki mal
Usstan philth dosst fuer'yon, l' kal'daka wund
Usstan belbau ulu dos l' belbolen d' ssussunen
Lu' luth doeb dosst quortek rath ulu ukt olath fuma.

Then Therian’s soul is bound in the symbol which will disappear and the body he had taken will be ripped to shreds. If there are any remaining wolves they will all be very violent and angry, but can be killed my normal means.

Rene cannot participate in this 24-hour scenario, so Kenn and Malte agree that Kenn gets Therian’s soul. During this 24-hour play Rahsna and Jaric are made pack members and the original size of 5 wolves is now restored. Søren, playing the king, gathers the gods’ holy objects and kills the wolves. Unfortunately he does not perform the rituals corectly, since they are rather complicated. All the wolves have the possibility of returning.

The year 3450 in the sign of Talno
The wolves once again roam about in Morania, but by reasons unexplainable, the King himself arrives in Camrynn – the missing King – and he kicks the wolves back to The Void they originally came from. And now there is once again peace in Morania.

November 2004
Rahsna’s and Jaric’s characters return. Kenn’s character could not return, since he was ripped to shreds. Heidi cannot return, because she was killed after Therian, and was thus a mortal wolf, her soul is still captured in her dead body. Malte cannot return, because he, during the wolves’ internal play, made a serious mistake and is not wanted back by Therian. Besides, Malte does not wish to be a part of the pack anymore. One of Kenn’s old characters is chosen as the new Therian, but does not appear in the live roleplay, but only on the forum. After Rahsna and Jaric have played their wolves a single time, the game masters of BFRF decide that the wolves are now history and not to be played anymore. They are still played, though, on BFRF’s forum.

The year 3450 in the sign of Opulantas
The wolves briefly returned to Camrynn, the rumours said, but noone has been able to confirm them.

Winter 2004-2005
Rahsna’s character Keinar and Jaric’s character Paq are bonded together. Slowly these two characters develop into the wolves’ opposites. Rahsna makes up the character Sündir, who is one of Therian’s most mighty wolves from a previous reign of Chaos. This character is played by Snow(Sündir), though only on the forum. Rahsna also develop the so called ’alurians’ to be Therian’s wolves direct opposites, an idea supported by BFRF’s game masters.

June 2005
Kenn’s role as Therian comes to Camrynn and after this the game masters decide that the wolves are not allowed to be played live, but can still be played on their forum.

The year 3451 in the sign of Eresir
Rumours of the wolves resurface, and the King sends out people through out the country to find out whether the rumours tell the truth or not.

December 2005
The last that has happened in this long wolf story is that the good forces have now stood face to face with evil and have survived. What further happened, can be read on Néveri’s board if one wants anymore information.

(This last bit is the ritual Therian uses when he creates a new wolf.)

This is what has been found by one of the king’s alchymists, a day when he was out wandering. It was an unreadable piece of paper with weird signs he did not understand. The King ordered his alchymist and his best interpreter to figure out what the paper said – and when they finally succeded, with the help of some very ancient language magic, they were horrified by the words the signs developed into...

I posses your soul
filling the empty hole
hunting at night
filling you with endless fright

We hunt you till dawn
Beware - through the nights
we will continue to extinguish the human lights..
