Preface about Neveri’s creatures After having drawn and published the map of Morania I wanted to relax for a couple of years. But it happened one night, shortly after the publication of the map that the King recieved a letter which would change my plans for the future rather drastically. The letter described how a merchant had seen something rather interesting on my map and read about the amazingly short distance there really is to the Tai islands. This, though, was not entirely true, since I had, though I would rather hate to admit, made a mathematical error, which would cost me dearly. The merchant had prepared thoroughly for the difficult journey with fifty men and uncountable items. He lost it all at sea and was now so poor that he had to live in the slum of Calendon. When the King had ordered his advisers to find this merchant and have his story confirmed, Cael Stormblade decided I take another journey through Morania as punishment. Though this time not to make a map, but to write about all the creatures who live in Morania! It is this, dear readers, of which you are to learn more. All the wonderful creatures, some magical and friendly, some malevolent and downright viciously evil. Through these pages you will learn more than the wise Bartholomaeus ever could teach you. And before my journey has come to an end, I promise you, honoured readers, that you will know all about any creature living in, above, under and close to Morania, which you can meet while travelling through the kingdom. I wish you a pleasant evening or day, and hope that my punishment will not only have taught me a thing or two, but will have taught all of us.
