We will begin to work on the English site again if interest in it returns.
In Néveri, religion is something fundamental, society is build on the good will and mercy of the gods. No one has any doubts about the existance of gods, and if someone is foolish enough to question this fundamental knowledge, one might risk one of the gods loses their temper, and removes that doubt - Often in a rather unpleasant way. Therefore it is perfectly normal that one worships and 'knows' a certain god better than the others, whose existance one does not question, of course.
The gods of Néveri's are spilt into three different groups:
-
The elders, also known as the first gods. There are three gods in this group.
-
The gods of chaos - the five elemental gods.
-
The young gods. Creators of Néveri as we known it. There are twelve gods in this group.
You will be able to choose a god from the first or third group, that is, The elders, or the young gods. One cannot choose to worship the gods of chaos. But it does not matter, for these gods do not accept simple worshipping, and so they will, atleast devour one's soul, should one be so utterly stupid to seek them out.
The elders:
The elders are the oldest thinking entities in Néveri. – one might say that they are Néveri. They have always been there, and will always be there. Even when Néveri as we know it cease to exist, they will remain. The magic-wielding or priests often worship Curator or Avia for wisdom and healing, and educated guards worship Avus for strength and stamina. If one choses to worship a god from this group, one can choose to worship one, or all of them. And even join the order of that or those gods.
Curator
is the oldest of gods, and as such the the creator of everyone else. Certain creatures mistakingly thinks he is mightier than the other gods, but that is not true. Curator existed before time and will always exist. He has never shown great interest in the world and is a rather relaxed god. His symbol is a quill. If one is studying or is employed at a university, one would be very likely to worship Curator, and so does many writers and magic-wielders. To ask if Curator actually listens to his worshippers, is always a good way to start a very long discussion.
Among many things, Curator stands for:
-
Science
-
Philosophy
-
The medical arts
-
Studies
-
Art and
-
Language
Avus
along with Avia, was the next gods to be created. Curator thought them into existance, but all three are equals. Avus as well is withdrawn from the world, but does show a mild interest in his worshippers. He is not as balanced as Curator, though loyal to those, whom are loyal to him. His symbol is a sword and a hammer. If a warrior, or a smith, one can, with great benifits, worship Avus for increased strength, stamina or grand abilities in smithing.
Among many things, Avus stands for:
-
Battle
-
Weaponhandling
-
Craftmanship
-
Courage and
-
Strength of will
Avia
is the eldest female god, and therefore very popular to worship among many women. She's more gentle than the other two eldest of gods, though not as engaged into the world as the young gods. Her symbol is a olivebranch. As earlier mentioned, many mothers and also more female healers, worship her. Even men can worship Avia. Typically it is male healers, herbalists or woodelves. By princip Avia accepts all races as worshippers, but drows do not really see any gain from worshipping her.
Among many things, Avia stands for:
-
Nature
-
Healing
-
Child birth and
-
Fertility
The gods of chaos:
The gods of Chaos, are as ancient as The elders and as big a part of Néveri. But these are exstreme opposites of The Eldes, and since the dawn of time, war between The Elders and gods of chaos has been very much alive - Just like it has between their worshippers. Eventually The elders succeeded in imprisoning the five forces of Chaos (see Néveri's history). From time to time one of the forces of Chaos manages to break the seal that holds them all captured, thus releasing their destructive powers upon the world, to great horror and terror for the ordinary population.
By worshipping a Chaos god, you will lose all power over yourself and your soul. It is not like worshipping The elders or The young gods, where one serves the god as a apprentice or preist. One becomes the property of the Chaos god - it's slave without free will.
Ignacio
stands for the fire element. He's a chaos god and as such simple of mind. He wish to bring Néveri back to before the time it was created, that is, The emptiness . He is like his element, destructive and merciless and almost impossible to satisy, if you are serving him. All races are accepted as worshippers. If they are foolish enough to ask of this, he will gladly take their soul. As a servant of Ignacio, one can never rest, for the god us almost impossible to satisfy.
Aquator
stands for the water element. As his element, he is changing of mind, full of rage one moment and calm in the next. When first Aquator has decided on something, he will, without any doubt, achieve it. As the water he is impossible to grow tired and never gives up on his cause. He will most often accept elves as his worshippers, since they live longer. He looks at time from a distance and sees man's short lifetime as a unacceptable weakness. For the same reason, his worshippers will not age. They are unchangeable and eternal like water.
Terrator
stands for the earth element. Contrary Aquator he is calm and solid as the strongest rock, and his priests are amongst the strongest of all. Terrator has had the same goal since the beginning of time, like his brothers, he only wish to annihilate Néveri, The elders and his brothers. As his worshipper, you get one order at a time, and does one not solve it, the punishment is increased until such a time, one will succeed the task. Terrator always requires unconditional obedience and a calm, unchangeable mind. The smallest doubt or uncertainty simply does not exist.
Aerovox
stands for the air element. He can be like Aquator, a whispering breeze and the second after, a roaring storm. Since Ignacio is somewhat dependant on him, Aerovox is also the only one who can speak with Ignacio, which certainly does not apply to his priests. Aerovox can demand an order executed, and the next second punish his priests for having excuted them. He is a challenging god to worship and you never really can trust him. Loyalty does not exist to him, and therefore he and Ignacio often fight each other. He allows any race to worship him.
Therian
stands for the wild, uncontrolable instincts in every creature, and it is not without reason he is known as The beast. Countratry to the other gods of chaos, his goal is not to annihilate the world, but rather the other gods of chaos, and gain control of every creature in Néveri. For this purpose he has dedicated servants, whom have all surrendered their soul to his bidding, and in return had their bestial, passionate, destructive instincts enchanced. Many of his priests have animal like character, however very highly skilled magic-wielders. Therian uses a somewhat different method compared to his elder brothers and assigns a new soul completely or partly to the bodies he gains control of.
The young gods:
The young gods were created by the elders, and it was these gods who created Néveri and the world together, and then populated the earth. The young gods are more diverse than the elders, and they each represent fewer matters since there are more of them. Some of these gods also have an order that you may join as a worshipper.
Rahnee
is goddess of the healing arts, and as such only represents a small part of what Avia stands for. It is almost only physicians, healers or priests that worship Rahnee. She can however choose to help creatures who does not worship her, but requires some sort of toll for this service. An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth is her motto. She has worshippers from almost every race, though orcs, goblins and drows are rarely seen among her worshippers. Rahnee is a gently god but does get rather crossed at times, especially about the unjustice suffering as she highly discourages torture.

Kimo
is the god of fertility and harvest, and are worshipped mostly by peasants and others who wish the harvest end well. Pregnant women worship him as well, praying for a healthy and strong child, by giving the god gifts of many forms. Tooth for a tooth applies with Kimo too. A annual harvest rirtual is held in his name and honour around August or early September, where a small part of the harvest is sacrifaced to him. Kimo will not accept drows as worshippers and only few of the highelven kin are bothered. Woodelves however have been seen at this annual celebration, and it have helped strengthening the bond between the two.
Aerth
is the mother of nature, and has in many ways taken over Avia's role, especially for the woodelves. She protects all things wild and woe those who threats nature. Aerth is one of the two gods that have alurians among their worshippers which makes her very much involved in the invisible war between the alurians and the beasts of Therian. Most often it is young women, elves epecially, that worships Aerth for her both harsh and and gently nature. Aerth protects nature, but not the animals that lives in it, that is Eresir's job. She is pleased, if her worshippers lives in the woods and not in the polulated cities or villiages. If you truly wish to gain contact with this goddess, all you need to do is find a serene spot deep inside the vast forests of Morania.
Eresir
is the creater of ainmals and as such their god, and god of all who wish to live in nature. He does not opposse hunting as long as it is for survival, and not sport. He is the second of the two gods that have alurians among their worshippers which makes him very much involved in the invisible war between the alurians and the beasts of Therian. Many woodwlves and ocasionally hunters of man worship him. He does not protect all the creature of the forest, only those who respects the idea of a peaceful and quite co-existance. Creatures that hunt for sports are not tolerated in forests and woods dedicated to Eresir. Only few of the highelven kin worship him, and should a worshipper or Eresir encounter a drow, they will usually kill it instantly, even though Eresir does not encourage murder.
Talno
is the god of weaponhandeling and battle, but certainly not meaningless killing or war. Honourable knights worship Talno, and likely also the talented smith. It is deemed possible that Talno will gift his loyal worshippers more strength in honourable combat, though nothing is certain. There exist a single monastery of monks that worship Talno without mind for weaponry. They use their life to study and write books on the subject. Talno loathes drows, orcs, goblins, or anything assasin as worshippers, unless, they are honourable warriors - Which is highly unlikely.
Hawkeye
is known for his sharp eyes and for not being able to keep his fingers to himself. He is the god of thieves and beggars, but certainly not god of murderers or thievery through force. He is likely to grant his worshippers better thieving skills, and grant them good luck with their business. However, if you are confronted with your crimes, do not count on Hawkeye to come to the rescue. Each thief on its own, that is his motto. And as long as you are successful, Hawkeye will see fit that you are indeed very much succesful.
Yun
is the wine, the beer, and the mead's god. Every time someone raises their mead filled mug and brings out a toast, they are worshipping Yun, according to himself. Yun rarely has any fixed worshippers, though the innkeeper might be counted as his priest. Yun does not object if he is not the only god you worship, as long as you entitle a glass of wine or two to him once in a while. Yun sometimes takes the shape of a creature from Neveri and goes to an inn, and there is always a special atmosphere with Yun joining in. Yun, Nisara, Sheeka and Mikan are the only gods who do not follow the gods’ law, and especially not the law which prohibits them from returning to our earthly realm.
Mikan
is the youngest god and he loves to play around. His worshippers are often jugglers, bards and other travelling persons. Because Mikan is the youngest he often does things differently, which is why rebellious people find him appealing to worship. Mikan can sometimes take a human form and seek out a nice female virgin, despite the fact that the gods agreed not to return physically to Néveri. Mikan, Nisara, Yun, and Sheeka and are the only gods who do not follow the gods’ law, and especially not the law which prohibits them from returning to our earthly realm.
Nisara
is goddess of darkness and it’s creatures. The drows often worship her, but not that many other creatures do. Nisara is the black sheep amongst the gods and she is only surpassed by the gods of chaos. Nisara is also worshipped by murderers, rapists, and other who doesn’t care for anyone else and only live for themselves. Nisara, Mikan, Yun, and Sheeka and are the only gods who do not follow the gods’ law, and especially not the law which prohibits them from returning to our earthly realm.
Fayon
is the god of light and the sun. He is a serious god, but loving towards his worshippers. High elves often worship him instead of Curator. Fayon is also the god of peace and the direct opposite of Nisara. Many healers and wood elves also worship him, but Fayon is not a god who personally follow his worshippers, they must contact him if they need him and not the other way around. Fayon do not want orcs and goblins as his worshippers, and often feels tempted towards personally killing any drow who steps onto the surface of the earth.
Opulantas
is the god of riches, trade and noble blood. He has a fondness for valuable objects, and this desire for riches and nobility makes him a desired god for snobbish highelves, rich merchants and noble blood lines. He himself is rather lofty, and doesn’t like mingling with the other gods, or with creatures in general. He tolerates his worshippers, but doesn’t care much for them – only if they’re succesful or noble enough. He is not an insensitive god, but he does not get to know many creatures well enough to truly care for them.
Sheeka
is the young goddess of death. Contrary to her mother, Nisara, she also has the unique ability to bring her worshippers back from the dead, when they are lost in the kingdom of death. Many compare her to something evil and the darkness in creatures, but Sheeka is not evil. She is someone noone can count on, not even the other gods. Sheeka helps all kinds of creatures, good and evil, and doesn’t choose sides. Her worshippers are typically imposters, thieves, drows, deathcasters and other who wants to overcome death. Sheeka, Nisara, Yun, and Mikan are the only gods who do not follow the gods’ law, and especially not the law which prohibits them from returning to our earthly realm.
