By Bartholomaeus Zippedaeus Many years ago, according to the old scrolls of the elves, in the horrible time during the war of the gods, a new race came to life, a race which since has meant everything to both Morania and the other kingdoms. A few years into the war the old seal which kept the chaos gods trapped in The Nothing began to loosen. The old bonds which Curator and his fellow gods had created, were not strong enough anymore, since every race, every individual, every place on the whole planet was bathed in chaos. This resultaed in a catastrophe, which has ever since dictated life for the inhabitants of Morania: Therian the Chaos god escaped! And with him came creatures who still haunt my nightmares and which exist in the mind of every person who has seen them and survived. The wolves of Therian – the beasts, the blood thirsty, and what else we humans have called them through the ages. These beasts I have written of elsewhere, and now the only important thing to mention is that they came into being at this point in time. Aerth and Eresir, who both had tried to avoid the war, now met to discuss what to do, in a place where we mortals cannot set foot. Noone knows exactly of what they spoke, but they agreed to create a new race together: The alurians. These creatures were always wood elves, and they are still surrounded by much mystery, I don’t think even the wood elves themselves know entirely what these alurians are. But even though Aerth and Eresir agreed upon creating these creatures, they could not agree upon how. Eresir felt that any wood elf should have the chance of becoming an Alurian, and he would only grant it to those of his worshippers who had proven worthy in deeds, words and personality. Aerth felt that one was born for such a task, and her alurians were born thus, and learned of their gift while they grew up. The two gods parted and now sought amongst their worshippers for candidates. After some time they each found what they were looking for – Eresir found a young hunter, only 100 summers old, and called him to his holy temple, where he revealed his plans to him. Lümanae was honoured to recieve this gift and wore it with pride. Aerth found a young woman who was with child and gave birth to a lovely girl at the next full moon. Her name was Khirissta. The child had the ability to transform into a beautiful wolf when she desired, and both she and Lümanae brought hope and joy to the elves’ warriors, and they brought them hope against Therian’s beasts. Because these two alurians were so noble, honest, beautiful and in every regard majestic, rumours of them quickly rose. To this day, almost any human views wood elf alurians as semi gods. And who knows? They could be right, since noone has succeeded in getting further knowledge about the nature of the alurians. There is some agreement as to their abilities, they can transform into an animal’s form, they possess the soul of an animal, and their ability to heal others magically is astounding .
